Barker dam milky way reflctions - Joshua Tree NP
Here’s one of my new faves from JTNP. It’s a version of the barker dam MW shot without the human element. With the previous shot I toned down the exposure on the rocks so that it wouldn’t conflict with the human and lantern light. In this version I kept it brighter to really show the details and patterns in the rocks. The perfect reflection kind of made the rocks look like a couple of alien ships waiting to take off. The WB is cooler here and not as yellow, giving the rocks a more natural tone. I’m really glad we were able to catch water in the dam. Even better that we had the entire place to ourselves all night. Another hidden gem in the desert. Protect and preserve for future generations.
