Happy International Dark Sky Week

Road to the Milky Way, Red Rock canyon State Park, Cantil CA

It's only right that I was able to get out Friday pre dawn for some Milky Way shots with the new D750 and 20mm 1.8. The combo is great. Didn't have to really push the ISO this time so I'll try that in a future test. The lens itself is nice. Corners are sharp but coma is a apparent wide open at 1.8 which does improve quite a bit by 2.8. Most of my shots from this morning were around f/ 1.8-2 and figured id take a little more coma over having to bump the ISO up to the 6400 range.

Shooting at red rock canyon state park. Only thing driving down highway 14 at 3 am are big rigs so we took full advantage of it and captured some double decker light trails with the Milky Way. Excited to look through the rest of the photos and get out for another trip next month for more astro shots.

EXIF Nikon D750, Nikkor 20mm 1.8, f/2, 20 sec, ISO-3200
