Campus Point postcard for EDC

About a month ago I was contacted by the Environmental Defense Center to use one of my photos from Campus Point off the UCSB campus for a postcard at the Ocean Festival. The EDC is a nonprofit based out in Santa Barbara and helps in protecting coast and ocean resources, open spaces and wildlife, and human and environmental health. Campus Point is a Marine Protected Area (MPA) which helps increase its coherence and effectiveness at protecting the state's marine life, habitats, and ecosystems.

Campus Point has always been a special place. It was walking distance from my freshman dorm and I used to paddle out all the time. It's the beach I actually made the transition to surfing too.

Throwback pic from freshman year when I went bodyboarding.

Haven't gotten a pic from there that I am completely satisfied with yet. Past few times we have been back the sky wasn't too dramatic, so I guess its just another excuse to get back up there...besides eating of course.

Been wanting to start trying to take surfing photos too. Too bad the waves suck around here. That new Tamron 150-600 looks tempting. Will have to wait for some more reviews to come out on it tho.
